Desert Willow Wellness provides medically supported marijuana detox services in Palm Springs for adults who are struggling to stop or reduce cannabis use and want a safe, structured place to stabilize and reset. Marijuana is often viewed as a low-risk addictive substance, but research suggests that heavy or long-term use can lead to dependence, withdrawal symptoms, and worsening mental health concerns.
If quitting on your own has felt harder than expected, you are not alone. Our team provides clinical support, emotional care, and a calm environment to help you take the first step toward clarity and balance.
Clients may choose to complete detox only, or continue into residential treatment at Desert Willow Wellness if additional support is clinically appropriate.
Get Started TodayMarijuana detox is the process of allowing THC and other cannabinoids to clear from the body while managing withdrawal symptoms and supporting emotional and physical stabilization.
Detox alone is not a complete course of treatment. It is often the first step for individuals whose marijuana use has begun to interfere with daily functioning or mental health.
Studies show that withdrawal symptoms are not typically dangerous, but they can be uncomfortable and disruptive without support, often including irritability, anxiety, sleep disturbance, cravings, and mood changes as the brain adjusts.
When marijuana use becomes habitual or relied upon for emotional regulation, stopping abruptly can lead to withdrawal symptoms that make quitting difficult. A structured detox setting reduces stress, limits triggers, and provides support during this adjustment period.
Studies also show that considering mental health alongside detox planning supports overall stability for people with co-occurring conditions.
At Desert Willow Wellness, marijuana detox focuses on stabilization, symptom support, rest, and emotional regulation using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.
If marijuana use has begun to affect your mental health, motivation, or quality of life, Desert Willow Wellness is here to help. Same-day assessments may be available when clinically appropriate.

These symptoms reflect physiological and psychological adjustment, not a lack of willpower. Our role is to support stabilization while reducing discomfort.
Research suggests that withdrawal symptoms vary from person to person, but commonly include irritability or mood swings, anxiety or restlessness, sleep disturbance or vivid dreams, decreased appetite, cravings, and difficulty concentrating.
According to research, marijuana use often overlaps with anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, or attention difficulties. Our approach considers mental health alongside detox planning to support overall stability.
Some clients use marijuana alongside prescription medications or other substances. When multiple substances are involved, we complete a comprehensive assessment and coordinate a detox plan that prioritizes safety and individualized care.
Marijuana detox timelines vary, but symptoms often peak within the first one to two weeks. During detox, care focuses on rest, hydration, nutrition, sleep support, and emotional regulation.
Detox focuses on stabilization and safety and is not intended to resolve all underlying substance use or mental health concerns.
Desert Willow Wellness offers on-site residential treatment for clients who choose to continue care after detox. Residential care provides structure, therapy, and a supportive, substance-free environment.
Transitioning into residential treatment is optional and based on clinical need, readiness, and personal goals. Some individuals complete detox only, while others benefit from continued care to strengthen recovery foundations.
We provide structured aftercare planning following detox or residential treatment. While PHP and IOP services are not offered on-site, we coordinate referrals to trusted community providers for outpatient care, therapy, sober living, and ongoing recovery support.
